Some of a large troupe of witches. The best part was that, all day one little boy in particular had been annoying, being pushy, rude - even some of the parade participants had pushed him away and he had tried to hang on the pretzel guy's cart as he walked down the street... As the witches went by, one of them picked him up like a sack of potatoes and started to carry him away. Yes! Eventually his mom jogged up and claimed him.
This also had a large following of people in this same costume - pretty unnerving when there are 30 of them sculking about.
The happiest (sober) parade-goer in Heidelberg!
