My favorite Blumen field is open. You may remember I told you how a corner of a field is set aside as a you-pick flower field, and different flowers are blooming and available every few weeks. They are all over the place, but this is my favorite. Here's the first crop of the year - tulips
Here's the cash box. Sitting on top of the barrel are little knives to help you out. Then you put your money in the little slot just above the eyes. These tulips are only 45 Euro cents each! "Nur bezahlte Blumen bringen Frue(n)de" basically means only paid -for flowers bring joy (friendship). 
This is posted next to the cash box/barrel. This is the family who operates the field. I think its why this is my favorite. "We are the Eichenauer family. Please pay correctly."

ReplyDeleteYears ago there was a lady on our road that grew roses all along her fence line. Just wild and people loved clipping them. They were beautiful and fragrant. When we went back home last year I noticed all the roses were gone. My Dad said she was tired of people picking them so she had all the rose bushes dug up. It made me feel sorry for her...all that beauty gone even for her.
